Irene Cooper
      Chair.

I joined the Institute as a student in 1986. Twelve years later I was honoured to be elected as President (1998-99) and sat at the head of the board of directors. Over the years I have benefitted from education in Photography and tuition alongside industry experts.  In addition to my work as a Theatre Photographer, I recently achieved an MA in Photography at De Montfort University.

Having been an active member of the Yorkshire region committee for many years, I am looking to continue to support the membership and encourage it to grow, hopefully, by bridging the gap between new members and old.

Working alongside the regional committee, the primary objective is to give all our members the opportunity to benefit from the wide range of talents that makes the Institute the premier organisation in photography.

I look forward to seeing you at future events.

Industrial and later general practise photography, together with war service in the Army Film & Photographic Unit as a cine cameraman, and over fifty years of dedication to the Institute, have been my life.

While technology, working practises and scale have changed, the ethos of the Institute remains strong in its resolve, and though now non-practising, it is greatly rewarding to be

associated with you, the new practitioners of today.

BIPP Yorkshire meetings and networking events reflect the energies, education, talent and skills of today’s membership, thus ensuring the continuity and quality of Yorkshire’s foremost photography practitioners.

Michael Dean.
Web Advisor.

I live and work in Leeds running my own IT business and delivering Photography and Photoshop training workshops, I also work as a part time lecturer in Photography for Kirklees College - Batley School of Art.  In 2012 I successfully completed a BA in Photography and achieved my Qualified Licentiate (LBIPP). I don’t specialise in any one area of photography, but enjoy the technical side of working with still life in a studio and the freedom of shooting landscapes outdoors.
